Biodiversity survey data

The table below illustrates how the data collected to date by volunteers since early 2022 is being presented and made available to those interested in a detailed summary of the plants and other flora found in carefully mapped areas of the Park.  Not all of the Park has yet been surveyed. This searchable database is compatible with, and will end up as part of, Greenspace Information for Greater London or GIGL and can be consulted there.  Readers with an interest in biodiversity in London will probably be aware of this organisation which is the capital’s environmental records centre.  Find out more here:https://www.gigl.org.uk/about-gigl/

The general visitor to the Park can click here for a map showing location codes. This can be enlarged to read the map details more clearly. If you are interested in finding a specific plant, put the species name in the search box at the top right;  if you want to find out the range of plants in a particular area of the park, search for the area code or the park location name.  The range of plants visible will vary with the season or year, so you can also find out what was identified at a particular date or compare with the same season in another year.
