Things to do

You may come to Waterlow Park for a walk, to enjoy the wildlife and ponds, or to visit Lauderdale House and the Cafe. If you are with family and friends we also have a range of enjoyable ideas for things to do >

Play areas and Sports

As well as the café in Lauderdale House and the nature reserve by the upper pond, there are two playgrounds towards the southern end of the park.  One is an enclosed area for children under 5 and the other has equipment for older children and is near the lower Swains Lane entrance.  The Park also offers tennis courts which are bookable here for both tennis and netball.  New in 2019 is a petanque – or boules – pitch:  just turn up and play – you can bring your own set or borrow one from the Lauderdale House café.

For more ideas on activities for children and adults in the park – nature hunt, trails, guide – please see the publications page.  [These were added in March 2020 when the playgrounds were closed.]

This is your park and your considerate use of the space and respect for others are more important now than ever. Please, if you have not already joined us, become a Friend. Your support is vital.
